With 12 years of experience working in social care, Katherine has gained valuable insights into the unique challenges faced by adults, young people, and families with mental health difficulties.

Having undergone therapy herself, Katherine was inspired to pursue CBT and completed a Post Graduate Diploma, as well as additional training in Compassion Focused Therapy. She is passionate about helping people to make meaningful changes in their lives and offers a warm, compassionate, and client-focused approach to therapy.

As a fully accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists, Katherine is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ensuring that her skills and knowledge are up-to-date. Katherine works both in private practice and in her local NHS IAPT service, providing evidence-based treatments in line with NICE guidelines. Her tailored approach to therapy ensures that each person is viewed as a unique individual, ensuring that they get the most out of their therapy.

“I am enthusiastic about supporting people to make meaningful changes in their lives,” Katherine says. “I believe it is important for my clients to feel valued, respected, and supported through therapy.”

CBT is a collaborative therapy that works with clients towards mutually agreed goals. Katherine emphasizes the importance of home tasks outside of therapy sessions to empower her clients with practical tools and skills that they can use in their everyday lives. CBT has a strong evidence base and is recommended by NICE for the treatment of depression and many anxiety disorders, proving its effectiveness in supporting those struggling with mental health difficulties.

Katherine assists her clients in managing difficulties such as low mood, loss of confidence, stress, and anxiety, as well as more complex issues such as PTSD, chronic pain, IBS, diabetes, and other long-term conditions. “I view each person as a unique individual,” Katherine says, “to ensure that you get the most out of your therapy.”
